We encourage you to always come back to this page from time to time to review our full Privacy Policy for detailed information on our privacy practices.

Reason Why we collect some personal data?

Please be informed that we collect personal data to be able to offer a specific service for your job-hunting needs; that is if you subscribe for it. You need to be aware that the specific services available depend on whether you have registered with the Jobs website and whether or not you decide to upload your CV to it.

What personal data do you collect?

Note that we only collect the following:
  • Your first and last names;
  • Your registered home/office address;
  • Your country of residence;
  • Your email address;
  • Your telephone numbers;
  • Your nationality, especially for non-Nigerians;
  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address (the number identifying your electronic device when accessing the internet);
  • Full details of your education and working career;
  • Your personal interests; and
  • details of how you interact with the published Jobs website and Jobs app, and vacancies you might be interested in.

How does Recruitment NG collect these Information?

We do not login to your computer, tablets or mobile phones. You provide personal data to the Recruitment NG Jobs website by visiting our website and doing the following:
  • registering as a user;
  • posting material to the Jobs website (for example, your CV); and
  • storing a copy of your CV and any other information you provide when you send it to a recruiter.
We also collect information by using cookies as directed by Google Cookies & Analytics.

What do we do with Applicants’ personal data?

If you have not registered

  • No information can be collected
If you are not registered, you can use basic functions such as:
  • sending CVs to job recruiters;
  • adding your CV to the searchable CV database (‘CV database’) ; and
  • signing up for jobs by email (‘Email alerts’)
In these circumstances, we will store a copy of your CV, and any other information you provide, for no longer than we need.

If you have registered

If you are registered with the website, there are more services available, including:
  • an individual account to send job applications from;
  • the option to receive email alerts about relevant jobs through a CV-matching service and the Job match service; and
  • the option to receive emails about offers and services from the Guardian or other organisations.
Put in mind that immediately you register and upload your CV to the Jobs website, you can also benefit from:
  1. a facility for recruiters to see your CV for specific roles you have applied for or that they believe you might be interested in;
  2. a private and secure area on the website to manage your job preferences and privacy settings and to update your CV and details;
  3. opting in to Job match emails;
  4. storing your CV on the Jobs website database; and
  5. a ‘public profile’ which anyone can see (you can hide your CV), including recruiters. This profile shows roles you are interested in, an idea of the salary you are looking for and your preferred location. Recruiters can find this profile through search engines, so do not include your name, contact details or any personal information in this section.

How do the different services available through the Jobs website use my data?

Email alerts

There are two email alerts that you can receive. If you have accepted marketing emails or signed up for email alerts through the Jobs website, you can receive general job alerts emails suggesting new vacancies, that may be based on previous Jobs website searches. To stop the emails, you can use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email and will need to sign in to your profile to adjust your marketing preferences for general emails from marketing. When you have a Jobs website profile you can also choose to receive Job match emails that are tailored to your job preferences, for example, sector and location. You can stop these emails by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

One-off job applications

When you apply for a one-off application, we keep a copy of your CV for six months and share it directly with the company who advertised the position. When applying without a Jobs website profile, you have the option to store a copy of your CV on the main CV database which recruiters search depending on your settings.

Logged in – CV

When you have created an account with the Jobs website and uploaded your CV details, we store your details on the main CV database and recruiters can have access to them, depending on your settings.

Logged in – job applications

When you create an account with the Jobs website, we keep your information in a database until you close your account. Through your account you can change your job-search preferences and control who can see your CV if you have one associated with the account.

CV database

When you apply for jobs on the Jobs website and upload your CV, a copy is stored on the CV database. This database can be searched by recruiters, depending on your settings. To be able to prevent recruiters from seeing your CV on the database, you need to create a Jobs website profile and click on the settings which apply.If you choose to share your CV or personal details with recruiters, we ask them not to hold your CV for longer than is necessary and not to use your CV for purposes other than recruitment.
