About the SLU

The history of the Sule Lamido University dates back to 22nd June, 2010 when the State Executive Council constituted a 9–Member Technical Committee chaired by Prof. Munzali Jibril, a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC). The Committee submitted its Report on 31st December, 2010 which included an Academic Brief and the Draft University Law. Our vision is to be a top class University that provides a stimulating teaching, learning and research environment in pursuit of solutions to societal problems.

SLU Remedial Admission for 2018/19 Necessary Requirement

All Candidates MUST present the originals and photocopies of the following documents during the Screening Exercise:

  • Acknowledgement Slip.
  • Evidence of Payment.
  • SSCE Statement of Result.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with white background.
  • Certificate of Indigeneship.
  • Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age.

 The Screening Exercise for both Arts and Science candidates will be conducted on Wednesday, 3rd and Thursday, 4th October, 2018.



Short-listed Candidates should report to the University’s Permanent Site, Kano-Jahun Road, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State by 9:00am.
Any candidate who fails to appear for the Screening Exercise on the dates above will not be considered for admission into the Programme for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.

CLOSING DATE: Application ends Sunday 23rd September, 2018.
